ABOUT THE ROLE
What Your Day Looks Like on a Case
As a home care LPN, you give skilled care to one patient in their home. You work under a supervising RN or physician and follow a written care plan that spells out each task.
Your patient may be an older adult managing a chronic condition or someone recovering after surgery. Most cases include:
- Giving oral and injectable medications as ordered
- Checking and charting vital signs
- Changing dressings and caring for wounds
- Providing catheter care, suctioning, and tube feedings
- Helping patients move, bathe, and eat
- Documenting each visit in the patient’s record
- Telling the RN right away about any change in condition
Want a wider search? Browse all LPN jobs in NYC across the five boroughs and Westchester.
Your schedule can be as short as a 4-hour visit or as long as a 12-hour overnight. You learn the patient’s routine, and you learn what a good day looks like for them.
Clear communication matters on every shift. You report changes quickly, and the RN decides the next step with you. You always know who to call, whether that is your supervising RN or a coordinator at our office.
LOCAL CONTEXT
Why LPN Jobs near Staten Island Fit Nurses Who Want Steady Hours
Many cases sit in residential neighborhoods like Great Kills and Annadale. Tottenville and New Dorp sit along the South Shore. St. George sits on the North Shore. Tell your coordinator which side suits your commute, and we start there.
Getting to a case is simple. According to the MTA’s Staten Island Railway page, the railway runs the only rapid transit line on the island. The line runs from St. George to Tottenville. That gives nurses without a car a direct ride to cases near the line.
Living in Manhattan? The free ferry from Whitehall in Lower Manhattan lands at St. George on the North Shore.
Driving in from Brooklyn? The Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge leads straight to the expressway. From there, Hylan Boulevard follows the east and south shores toward New Dorp and Great Kills, and Richmond Avenue cuts through the middle of the island.
Coming from New Jersey? The Goethals Bridge and the Bayonne Bridge bring you in on the island’s western and northern edges.
Our coordinators know these routes well. They can flag a case that fits your commute, your schedule, and your shift length before you commit.
OUR PROCESS
How We Match You With a Case
We aim for the right fit, not just a filled shift.
- Send in your license and BLS card
Submit your application online with your New York State LPN license and BLS certification. We review every file and follow up fast.
- Tell us what you want
A coordinator at our Brooklyn or Bronx office asks about your experience, preferred shifts, and best neighborhoods for your commute. Want days near Tottenville or overnights near St. George? Say so.
- Start with backup
Your first shift comes with an RN supervisor and a support team that answers the phone. You never have to figure things out alone, and help is one call away.
Most qualified applicants start within a few weeks. New hires get an orientation before their first case.
If a case does not feel right once you see the details, tell your coordinator before you accept. We would rather find a better match than fill a shift.
The goal is simple: a case that fits your schedule, your commute, and your comfort level. Every one of our LPN jobs near Staten Island includes:
- Hourly pay based on your experience and how complex the case is
- A $500 sign-up bonus for new hires, with terms explained at intake
- Days, evenings, overnights, and weekends in four shift lengths
- Repeat assignments, so you build a bond with one patient
- An RN supervisor and coordinators who respond while you work
- Cases matched to your skills and commute before we offer them
- Support from our Brooklyn and Bronx offices from your application through your first shift and beyond
Not sure what to ask before you say yes? Read what to ask a home care agency before accepting a nursing job offer before your intake call.

WHY CHOOSE US
Why Nurses Stay With Nursing Done Right
For over a decade, we have matched nurses with patients across the five boroughs and Westchester.
You work with one patient instead of rotating across a hospital floor. That means steadier hours and a patient who knows your name.
Coordinators return calls from nurses in the field. If a case in Tottenville or New Dorp is not working, you have someone to tell and a team that acts on it.
To qualify for LPN jobs near Staten Island, have these ready:
A valid New York State LPN license with current registration
Reliable attendance and a professional track record
An unexpired BLS card
Home care experience is a plus, but not required
Comfort taking direction from a supervising RN or physician
Hospital nurses and new graduates are welcome
According to the New York State Education Department, LPN registration runs three years. Check that yours is current before you apply.
FAQ
Questions From LPNs Applying Here
Many LPNs drive in from Brooklyn over the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge or from New Jersey via the Goethals and Bayonne bridges. Others ride the island’s railway. Tell your coordinator how you travel, and we match cases to your route.
You can choose day, evening, overnight, weekday, or weekend shifts in either area. Blocks last 4, 8, 10, or 12 hours. Your coordinator fits the schedule to your availability.
No. Nurses from hospitals, clinics, and long-term care are welcome, and so are recent graduates. Orientation comes first, so you feel ready for your case.
Care follows the patient’s care plan, always under RN supervision. Tasks include giving medications, wound care, catheter care, and tube feeding. Your coordinator shares the area and care needs before you accept.
The bonus is open to every new hire, from Tottenville to St. George. You earn it after initial assignment milestones. Your coordinator explains the exact terms at intake.
